We recently got a call to help save a group of dogs that were in a hoarding situation. We took puppies and adults, all in various stages of socialization (or lack of) and all severely neglected in terms of grooming and general care. We are providing the grooming, health care, sterilization and most of all TLC for these dogs in hopes of finding all of them wonderful homes of their own.
Sada was a part of this group. She is still very shy. She loves other dogs and does very well with just about any dog she has met. It's people that frighten her. She just feels safer in the shadows. She doesn't want to be picked up and held, she just wants a chance to get acclimated and progress at her own comfortable pace. We explained all of this in great detail and placed her in a home- but 3 weeks later the romance was over. They just didn't want to wait for her to come around. This time we need a real commitment- she is going to be a wonderful companion for the right person who will take pride in watching her blossom and learn to be a confident young dog.
Ritzy Rescue and Posh Puppy are programs created by CVRR to feature Purebred and Designer dogs. Many of our purebreds are rescued from local puppy mills; some are surrendered by owners who can no longer care for them. Designer dogs (blended breeds of highly desirable breeds) are sometimes found in local kill shelters, surrendered to us by backyard breeders and occasionally just dumped off near our foster homes.
All of our Ritzy and Posh dogs are in need of loving, nurturing homes. Many of them come to us with a serious lack of socialization, malnourished, unvaccinated and desperately in need of grooming and dental care. We place them in foster homes, attend to their physical and emotional needs and begin the process of finding suitable forever homes.
