Penelope is 5 year old female pug that has been through a lot. She was surrendered to us after being attacked by another dog in her home. She had a broken leg, had alreadylost one eye from a prior attack and now had a severe trauma to the second eye. After many weeks of ongoing vet care her leg is almost fully healed, and she has lost the vision but was able to keep the injured eye leaving her totally blind. Her foster mom can attest to her resilience. Penelope has learned her way around the house and out the doggy door. She needs a home with a person committed to her ongoing care. We would prefer to place her in a home that has had either a pug, a blind dog or both.
Ritzy Rescue and Posh Puppy are programs created by CVRR to feature Purebred and Designer dogs. Many of our purebreds are rescued from local puppy mills; some are surrendered by owners who can no longer care for them. Designer dogs (blended breeds of highly desirable breeds) are sometimes found in local kill shelters, surrendered to us by backyard breeders and occasionally just dumped off near our foster homes. All of our Ritzy and Posh dogs are in need of loving, nurturing homes. Many of them come to us with a serious lack of socialization, malnourished, unvaccinated and desperately in need of grooming and dental care. We place them in foster homes, attend to their physical and emotional needs and begin the process of finding suitable forever homes.
