Winston’s story is far too common and just breaks our heart:  he was seen running loose in an orchard and surviving off rancid road kill.  Someone had just dumped him, expecting him to fend for himself.  Luckily he was rescued off the side of a busy road by one of our volunteers, given a warm place to sleep and healthy food.

Winston is very unique for a dog found wandering the streets: he is not fearful or shy.  Instead he is a loving, mellow little guy.  His foster parents even think he is an old soul in a young body.  He is amazingly calm for his age and only wants to be loved. 

Winston’s ideal home would be one where he can follow his people around, sitting close to them on the couch as they watch tv and maybe even being allowed to snuggle in the bed at night.  He does great with other dogs and even cats, but would also enjoy being an only dog and being the center of attention.  If you are looking for a loyal companion that will give twice what you give him in terms of love and trust, then Winston should be the first on your list.
