Victoria is our new poster child for bad breeding programs. She was brought to us when the breeders were done with her. She had just finished whelping her LAST litter. No one can tell me how old she is- suffice it to say she is far too old to have continued to be bred. She has 1 tooth left and is slightly visually impaired in her blue eye. She was 'stripped" when we got her- but they actually forgot to finish one leg! Judging from the conidition of that leg her coat had not been bathed, brushed or groomed in a very long time- if ever. She had a hot spot on her back hip from being matted.
So why , you ask , would anyone want to adopt this dog? Because she is one of the sweetest, happiest little girls I have ever rescued. Despite her horrible life- she just wants to be loved. Lord knows she deserves to spend her remaining years in a wonderful, loving home.
Ritzy Rescue and Posh Puppy are programs created by CVRR to feature Purebred and Designer dogs. Many of our purebreds are rescued from local puppy mills; some are surrendered by owners who can no longer care for them. Designer dogs (blended breeds of highly desirable breeds) are sometimes found in local kill shelters, surrendered to us by backyard breeders and occasionally just dumped off near our foster homes.
All of our Ritzy and Posh dogs are in need of loving, nurturing homes. Many of them come to us with a serious lack of socialization, malnourished, unvaccinated and desperately in need of grooming and dental care. We place them in foster homes, attend to their physical and emotional needs and begin the process of finding suitable forever homes.
