Baron was rescued, quite literally, by one of our volunteers. She was pulling into a gas station and saw a woman hitting him with a stick!!  The woman "claimed" he was trying to get into her car...still no reason to beat him! Baron has one of the most bulletproof temperaments I have ever seen in a dog. He is gentle and loving and didn't even retaliate when one of my crazy Jack Russell's lit into him! (He got into their yard by accident)
He was in pretty bad condition- fleas,ticks, etc. - but has been treated and other than some scabs he is in good shape now.
